Afrobeats star Ayra Starr is making her foray into acting, joining the cast of Children of Blood and Bone, the much-awaited screen adaptation of Tomi Adeyemi’s acclaimed fantasy novel.
Starr revealed that acting had always been a quiet ambition of hers, though nerves often got in the way. “I’ve always been a bit reserved when it comes to acting, but this marks the first time I’ve been in front of the camera without performing music,” she shared. “I gained so much from everyone on set, not just the legendary actors, but even the younger cast members, the 16-year-olds, the 14-year-olds. Watching them was incredibly motivating.”
