The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has said that President Bola Tinubu’s administration inherited a fragile economy that was on the verge of collapse.
Wike made the statement on Friday during an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today, where he dismissed claims that the Tinubu administration had damaged the nation’s economy.
“He took over an economy that was gone. It was totally gone,” Wike said on the programme.
The minister added, “Nigeria was ready to be buried. Luckily, it has not been buried. Someone [Tinubu] came and said, ‘No, I will not allow you to be buried!’”
