Tinubu Sets Up Committee for State Burial of Late President Buhari
President Bola Tinubu has approved the constitution of an inter-ministerial committee to coordinate a befitting state burial for former President Muhammadu Buhari, who died in London on Sunday, July 13, at the age of 82 after a prolonged illness.
The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, announced the decision in Abuja on Monday, stating that the committee would collaborate with the Katsina State Government and the family of the late president to ensure a dignified programme of events.
The move reflects the administration’s commitment to honouring Buhari’s service to the nation with a burial that appropriately reflects his status as a former Nigerian leader.
