Supreme Court Upholds Okpebholo’s Election as Edo State Governor
The Supreme Court has affirmed the election of Monday Okpebholo of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the governor of Edo State, aligning with the earlier judgment of the Court of Appeal in Abuja.
A five-man panel led by Justice Mohammed Garba Lawal ruled that the appellants—the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate, Asue Ighodalo—failed to prove allegations of electoral non-compliance, unlawful votes, and claims that Okpebholo was not duly elected during the September 2024 election.
The appeal was dismissed for lacking merit.
