US Supreme Court Limits Judges’ Power in Win for Trump
The US Supreme Court on Friday handed Donald Trump a major win by limiting the power of single federal judges to block executive actions nationwide. In a 6-3 ruling linked to Trump’s attempt to end birthright citizenship, the court said such sweeping injunctions “likely exceed” federal courts’ authority. The court did not immediately rule on the constitutionality of Trump’s order seeking to end automatic citizenship for children born in the US.
