Peter Obi Says Northern Nigeria Will Celebrate His Presidency in 2027
2027 presidential aspirant and former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has stated that the northern region of Nigeria will celebrate him if he becomes president.
Speaking on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics programme, Obi, who is also a key figure in the opposition coalition under the African Democratic Congress (ADC), described the 19 northern states as Nigeria’s greatest asset due to their numerical voter strength and vast arable lands.
However, he noted that the region’s potential has remained largely untapped due to insecurity and poor governance.
“We have voted for incompetence, we’ve voted for tribe, we’ve voted for religion; let’s vote for competence,” Obi said, urging Nigerians to prioritize capable leadership over ethnic and religious considerations in the 2027 elections.
