Musk Renews Attack on Trump’s ‘Big, Beautiful Bill,’ Calls It ‘Insane and Destructive’
Elon Musk has renewed his sharp criticism of former President Donald Trump’s proposed “Big, Beautiful Bill,” intensifying his opposition as Senate Republicans push to advance the 940-page proposal.
Taking to X on Saturday, Musk warned his 220 million followers that the bill would “destroy millions of jobs in America and cause immense strategic harm to our country.” He added, “Utterly insane and destructive. It gives handouts to industries of the past while severely damaging industries of the future.”
Musk, who previously led the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) before a dramatic split with Trump, doubled down in follow-up posts, calling the bill “political suicide” for Republicans. He cited polling data indicating support for his stance and argued the bill would raise the debt ceiling by $5 trillion—“the biggest increase in history”—putting America “in the fast lane to debt slavery.”
