Michael Jackson’s Iconic Rhinestone Sock Sells for Over $8,000 at French Auction

A single glittery sock worn by Michael Jackson during his 1997 HIStory World Tour has been sold at auction in France for more than $8,000, according to French auctioneer reports.

The sock, found by a technician near Jackson’s dressing room after a performance in Nîmes in July 1997, was adorned with rhinestones and worn during the pop legend’s show. Over time, the white athletic sock has yellowed and shows visible stains, but its historical and cultural value remains high.

The auction, listed on interencheres.com, drew international attention from fans and collectors of Michael Jackson memorabilia. Despite signs of aging, the sock’s direct connection to the “King of Pop” helped it fetch a notable final price.
