Centre-back Jarell Quansah has moved from Premier League champions Liverpool to Bayer Leverkusen for what is reportedly a club record fee, the Bundesliga club announced on Wednesday.
British and German media report that the transfer fee for the 22-year-old could reach 40 million euros ($47 million), including 10 million euros in potential add-ons.
This makes Quansah the most expensive signing in Leverkusen’s history, surpassing the previous record of 32 million euros paid for midfielder Kerem Demirbay in 2019.
