Former President Muhammadu Buhari has died at the age of 82.
His death was confirmed on Sunday in a terse statement by his former special adviser, Garba Shehu, who announced that the former leader passed away in a clinic in London.
“The family of the former president has announced the passing on of the former president, Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, this afternoon in a clinic in London. May Allah accept him in Aljannatul Firdaus, Amin,” Shehu stated.
Buhari, who led Nigeria from 2015 to 2023, leaves behind a legacy that will continue to shape Nigeria’s history and politics.
