Chelsea Stun PSG to Win Inaugural FIFA Club World Cup

Cole Palmer delivered a standout performance, scoring twice and assisting another goal as Chelsea defeated Paris Saint-Germain 3-0 to win the first edition of FIFA’s revamped Club World Cup on Sunday at the MetLife Stadium.

Despite PSG arriving as favourites after their UEFA Champions League triumph and a dominant 4-0 semi-final win over Real Madrid, the French champions found themselves 3-0 down by halftime against Chelsea.

Palmer opened the scoring midway through the first half, doubled the lead on the half-hour mark, and later set up Joao Pedro for the third goal in the 43rd minute, taking advantage of PSG’s passive defending.

The match, attended by former US President Donald Trump, marked a historic victory for Chelsea in the debut edition of FIFA’s new competition structure.
