Brazilian police raided the home of former President Jair Bolsonaro on Friday, as further restrictions were imposed on the far-right leader, who is standing trial on coup charges that have concerned US President Donald Trump, a key ally.
His son, Eduardo Bolsonaro, a congressman now based in the United States, confirmed on X that federal police raided his father’s home in the morning. Eduardo criticised Supreme Court judge Alexandre de Moraes, a known Bolsonaro adversary, who on Friday ordered Bolsonaro to wear an electronic ankle bracelet, avoid leaving home at night, and stay off social media.
