ADC Members Sue to Challenge David Mark-Led Interim Leadership

Three members of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) have filed a lawsuit at the Federal High Court in Abuja, challenging the interim leadership of the party led by former Senate President David Mark.

The plaintiffs argue that the former national chairman, Ralph Nwosu, no longer has the right to convene a National Working Committee (NWC), National Executive Committee (NEC), or any other party meetings since his tenure has expired.

They also contend that the interim executives “cannot and should not act” in a leadership capacity, insisting that their appointment resulted from an illegal meeting convened by the former chairman.

Among other reliefs, the plaintiffs are asking the court to declare the appointments of David Mark, Rauf Aregbesola, and Nasiru Abdullahi as “unconstitutional, unlawful, null, and void.”
