Filmmaker Kunle Afolayan has hailed YouTube as the next frontier for Nollywood, while also expressing concern over the platform’s susceptibility to piracy.
“I believe YouTube Movies represent the future. With the right promotion, these films can gain as much visibility as they would on Netflix, and people can easily watch them straight from their phones,” he explained.
However, the director also pointed out that YouTube is still a vulnerable platform, frequently exploited by copyright violators.
